My diet for the next 30 days

I have two uncles who are on feeding tubes at the moment. So I will drink smoothies and eat free food for a month.

The day's ration of mix. The yogurt contains contain 25 g of coconut oil each. 2000 calories total.

  1. Day 1

    Consumed 2/3 of the mix.

    Free food:
1 slice of banana bread from work
    Theresa made
    2 slices kalbi
    1 ear corn
    macaroni salad
    2 slices fried tofu
1 tea bag of green teach

  2. Day 2

Consumed about 5/8 of the mix.

My legs feel like I ran a half marathon and have a headache when I wake up. I think i need to wean myself on the mix, or gradually increase the potassium. I'm also coming down with a cold, so that could be leading to the headache and congestion.

    Free Food:
2 pieces of Fah Sung Thong (Peanut and Sesame Brittle) from Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery in Honolulu, courtesy of Sharon
half a plate of spicy pork rice and kimchi
    1 bag lavender mint tea

  3. Day 3

    Consumed 3/8 mix left over.

    Free Food:
    1 sugar cinnamon cookie
    1 banana
Surf and Turf dinner, 1/2 a steak and a lobster tail with rice!
    1 matcha green tea bag

My cold got worse and I took the afternoon off.

  4. Day 4

Reduced potasium by half temporarily. Consumed 100 of mix. Also rebalanced to include more protein. Here is the 2000 calorie break down:

    Corn Flour Mix 214g - 784 cal
    Protein 175g (126g protein, 49g carbs) 729 cal
    Fats (coconut oil) 50g - 428 cal
    Multi vitamin 15.6g - 40 cal
    calcium/magnesium/vitaminD 9g - 15 cal
potassium 6g (reduced temp to 3g)
    salt 4g
    choline 2g

Muscle soreness in the back, little bit of headache. My pee is neon and has that nursing home smell. The color is probably due to the vitamin B2 (riboflavin) in my vitamin mix. Using multivitamin powder from Vitamin Shoppe. Its got 25 mg of B2 which is 1471% of daily recommended intake. So I'm pretty much peeing it all out.

    Free food:
none, although was at Costco since I took the day off to recover from a cold. Was short of time so didn't get some free food samples.
    Green Tea
    couple of cough drops
2 pills mucinex day and 2 pills mucinex night.

  5. Day 5

    Consumed 2/3 of mix.

    Fee Food:
stove popped popcorm with truffle salt (left over kernels)

No more headaches or muscle aches. Poop came out like playdoh. I've been splitting my mix into three servings. I tried 4, but didn't have enough time to finish 4 shakes. So three seems to work better. Difficult to finish 3 in a saturday after sleeping in late and not doing much all day.

  6. Day 6

    Consumed 2/3 of mix

    Free Food:
stove popped popcord with truffle salt, ate it with the mix to get it down.

After the first 1/3, got sleepy, and arms were kind of tingly. Took a long mid day nap.

  7. Day 7

I think I've found the right amount of nutrient for me.

1/3 of mix with minerals and vitamins in the morning
    1/3 in the afternoon
1/6 of protein, carbs and fats in the eveing (protein powder, corn flour, coconut oil)

Without the minerals the mix was a lot less thick and was easier to drink.

    Free Food:

Washed down the last 1/6th with popcorn and truffle salt.

Sleep was uneventful, poop has sort of returned to normal.

  8. Day 8

2/3 of mix with mineral and vitamins in the morning and afternoon

    Free Food:
    pigged out at the summit
    2 bags of chips
    1 instant miso
    1 shortbread cookie
1 vanilla ice cream cone 1 scoop

deep fried and battered shrimp, peppers and onions with rice (ate half, saved half for tomorrow)
    1 bottle lemon lime gatorade
    sweet orange hot tea

    Good nights sleep.

  9. Day 9

Just remembered. The previous nights sleep wasn't so good. Stomach felt bad after eating the breaded shrimp. Sleeping on hte left side helped.

    1/3 of mix downed

    Free Food:
half of deep fried and battered shrimp plate
spicy pork ribs with carrots and potato
    slice of 3 layer cake
    slice of brownie
    green tea

    Good nights sleep.

Been napping during the day after my morning mix. I think the simple sugars in the protein and carb puts me in a stupor. Also noticed some tingling in the hands, possibly due to Vitamin B6. Too much B6 willl apparently do that. My vitamin mix has 25 mg per daily serving. Recommended amount is to not exceed 50 mg.

  10. Day 10

    Consumed all the mix.

    Free Food:

    2 pieces of corn bread.

    1/3 of the way through.

  11. Day 11

    Consumed 2/3 mix.

    Free Food:

    canned sardines from the cupboards
    large orange

getting headaches from the phosphate. Or maybe just sleeping too long.

  12. Day 12

    Consumed all the mix.

Ran out of oats and coconut oil. Now switching to pancake flour and peanut oil.

Ate a hotdog and bun at work.
Popcorn and truffle salt. That was the last of the popcorn.

  13. Day 13

Pancake mix was ok at first, but the last of it was hard to down. Its a little fizzy cause of the baking soda in it.

    Consumed 2/3.

    Free Food:
    large orange

Washed and waxed my car, didn't feel so good in the sun. Can't tell if I needed sugar or had trouble digesting. I think the fat is going to my sides, bye bye adonis belts, hello love handles.

I screwed up on the protein, I should have purchased isolate. The powder I bought from walmart and vitamin shoppe has too much matrodextrin, which apparently has twice the glycemic index of table sugar. Explains why I get sleepy after a meal. Mixed with protein, its suppose to be for fast absorption in protein powders. Since I'm not doing heavy exercising, its pretty much just going to fat. Looks like I need to step up my physical activity. But I felt wasted just from washing and waxing.

  14. Day 14

    Broke my diet.

Consumed 1/3. The pancake ran out so I experimented with wheat flour that I had in the house. It was gross. I tried to flavor it with with instant coffee. Ended up drinking 1/2 of the second 1/3 and pouring the rest down the drain. Then ate a can of sardines.

I've consumed about half of the vitamins and over half of the protein i purchased.

  15. +1

First bought meal. McDonalds bigmac and medium fries. $6.12. Tasty. Kind of made me feel bad, I think my stomach isn't used to this kind of food after only 2 weeks. Going to the grocery store later. Going to get some good stuff, eggs, fruits, some kale, maybe pasta tonight.

  16. +2

My taste buds lost sensitivity. I made spaghetti with itallian sausages and it tasted kind of metallic. THe next morning I had some medium boiled eggs and I couldn't really taste the egg or the yuzu seasoning I put on them.
