Mars

Mars was the closest it will be to Earth this past weekend until 2018. It looks like the moon through a powerful telescope.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson

It would be fricking cool if my wife was a secret agent. I'm sure we would also own a convertible.

Field Trip

Kathyrn and I went up to the San Gabriel Dam site again to fix this dish. There wasn't much we could do and the Hughes people weren't very helpful. We were able to get all the data off the the old PC though so that was very good. Coincidentally Universal was filming FF Tokyo there, thats right, The Fast and the Furious will soon be a trilogy, apparently this one takes place in Tokyo and someone has decided that us moviegoers won't be able to dell the difference between a Japanese countryside and the Angeles National Forest. We took a picture of the water tower which now has Japanese writing on it. Here's the rest of the days pics.

The Moon

Different settings

The Moon

I was trying to take a picture of the moon, it was way harder than I thought.

Lunch

Had lunch with Bob, Miloni, Liz and Bob's friend at the Bombshelter. A bird shat all over us. I think some of it got into my nachos!

Buttercup

I didn't choose the name. Benedict brought Buttercup back to the breeders. She was a great puppy, but I think people in the house were ill prepared to take care of her. You just can't force that kind of commitment on people. That is too bad, she was impressively smart for a 9 week old.

surfing

Went surfing last Thursday, there was not a single wave out there. Only three other people and a small sea lion bothered to show up. Oh well I needed the exercise. I did find a shortcut to get get to Sunset Beach from the UCLA campus. West on Wilshire, right onto San Vicente, right onto 7th street. That'll take you onto PCH heading North. If you want to hit the Santa Monica beaches go straight on San Vicente instead on turning on 7th. It'll hit Ocean and reach the Santa Monica beaches. The sea lion was my cue to leave, unfortunately I was being a retard and rode a wave in, onto the rocky shore. Man if I had a fiberglass board it would have about 10 dings on it now.

credit card

God damn I think I'm about 5 hours late on paying my credit card bill. How could I forget 12 days of advance notice. I wish it would just automatically take my money.

Ray and Val got married

Ray and Val got married, here they are with their first dance as married folks. I was pretty sure this day would come for a couple of years now, but its nice to see it finally happen. A new chapter. We also got to see the Cheungs and the Chus. This was the first wedding I've been to in a while, but I think it will be hard to top. Since it was at Val's house I only had to drive like a minute. Most convenient wedding ceremony ever, the pastor got things going quick too which was good since we were out int he garden. I was doing the video camera so I was standing too. I hope the video came out ok. So after the wedding we had some time to kill before the banquet so Daniel, Miloni, Alex, Bob and I went went to old town Pasadena. So for the next 4 hours or so we went to some bars and drank in moderation while watching the SC-Irish game. Too bad the Irish lost. It was a little odd since it was the middle of the day and we were in stuffy ties drinking and being loud. Miloni gets a pat on the back for taking a lap around old town with us in her high heel sandals.
So after a little technical difficulties we escaped from the Parsons' public parking lot in Pasadena and got to NBC seafood in Monterey Park. I hope no one noticed my red face and shades. The food was great, everything I liked was on the menu and of course there was more vino. After eating there was dancing, Ray's dad can boogie man, he's got some flair. He certainly danced circles around me, (sorry Liz for stepping on your toes).
After the banquet, Liz took us to a Boba place she knows on Main and Garfield, we met more of my sister's friends there and played some cards and an intense game of Jenga. I don't really like Jenga, but its pretty funny playing Jenga with caffeine hands. After boba Steve Wong let those of us who still had fuel left into his place and played fooshball and ping pong. about 3:30 I said goobye to everybody and Daniel dropped me off at home. Suprisingly I got up early enough to go to mass today.
So tomorrow Ray and Val take off to Mexico for their honeymoon. Can you beleive it?
